If I were to change one thing in Hong Kong, I would change the education system.
Why?
The education system nowadays has distorted people’s concept of wisdom. People only crammed equations, quotes into their brain, or even have the textbooks scanned onto their cerebrum, but never one fully grasp the meaning of learning. Sadly, I am one of them.
It is even sadder to see people seeing that graduation certificate from university (esp. famous universities) as wisdom. Although people who graduated from universities DEFINITELY have wisdom, I am talking about that very piece of paper namely graduation certificate.
When will all these change? I have been always thinking about and talking about this. I KNOW IT IS BORING TO YOU. But for me, this is a very woeful problem.
p.s. I am writing this today because I saw a YouTube video teaching us how to “learn” 400 English vocabulary in just one hour. I wonder if there is any wrong choice of word there.
